BREWING METHOD:
Oolong Tea Tie Guan Yin consists of round-shaped tea balls formed by the tea buds and leaves curling together. Therefore, when brewing, you should use hot water, about 95°C, to fully release the tea’s aroma and flavor.
Basic brewing steps are as follows:
Step 1: Warm the teapot – Pour hot water into the teapot, swirl it around to warm the teapot, and pour the water out into the cups to warm them.
Step 2: Awaken the tea – Add 8-10g of Oolong Tea Tie Guan Yin (or more, depending on your preference) into the teapot. Then, pour hot water into the teapot, just enough to submerge the tea, and discard the water.
Step 3: Brew the tea – Pour hot water into the teapot, about 200ml. Let the tea steep for 40 seconds for the first infusion, and 60 seconds for subsequent infusions. Then pour all the tea from the teapot into a serving pot or cups. After pouring out the tea, open the lid of the teapot slightly to prevent the tea from over-brewing. When you’re ready for the next serving, refill the teapot with hot water. The tea can be brewed 3-4 times depending on the type.
Step 4: Enjoy the tea – Your Oolong Tea Tie Guan Yin is now ready to be enjoyed.
